It's been a while...

So, it has been almost exactly nine months since I have updated my blog. It has been a crazy, busy, exciting, new, and most of all BLESSED nine months I have ever had. Yes, can you believe me little guy is 9 months old? I can't. Time has just flown by. It seems like yesterday I was home with him all the time. Now, I am juggling being a mommy, wife, and teacher. However, I am loving... absolutely loving every minute of it. God has given me so many gifts and blessings this past year. I have HIM most of all. I also have Gavin, Jason, and a wonderful job that I look forward to every day. Some mornings it is hard to leave my sweet boy who is usually still asleep in his crib. However, when I get home it is the best feeling to have him crawl to the door as fast as he can to see his mommy and give her lots of sugar :). The best is when he lays his sweet head on my shoulder for a few seconds, looks up, and smiles at me! I adore my sweet Gavin Brock! I could go on and on about his milestones over the past 9 months of his life. However, that would take F-O-R-E-V-E-R. Here are the latest updates on our precious baby boy...

8 months:
He is on the go ---EVERYWHERE
He has become more attached to mommy. He has started the stranger danger phase.
He loves stickers. His grammy bought him some stickers and if you put them on his hand he entertains himself by trying to peel it off and then switching it between hands for several minutes.
He loves to lay his head on your shoulder or chest (we call this Gavin's "loves")
He loved baths for the first 8 months of his life and then all of sudden HATES them and we have to bathe him standing up while he screams the entire time.
He will laugh back at you when you laugh
He is proud of himself when he holds on to things and walks around them.
He loves to be read to. Our new favorite story/sing along to read is called Fire Truck.
He has NOT adjusted to the lovely time change and goes to sleep around 6:00 every night. However, I will never complain because he sleeps 12-13 hours (since 3 months)
He loves to play with Melissa and Doug puzzles!
Last but not least... our baby boy LOVES to eat (anything-even those stickers he plays with..haha)

As for what else is happening around the Osborne household.... NOTHING. This working mom can't hardly stay up to enjoy a movie with her husband. This is how it usually goes after Gavin goes to bed... I get my comfy boyfriend VS sweatpants on, lay on the couch to watch t.v. or a movie with my sweet husband and I am out like a light within five minutes. This happens nightly around 6:30 or 7:00.

Dear Husband,

You have come to expect this. You are fabulous. I love you ;) One day I will choose you over the couch and sleep. Thanks for being patient. Gotta go, it's my bedtime (haha)

Second Grade quotes of the day:

Student:"I know something you can re-use. You can reuse your daddy's old underwear. "
Students: "What? YUCK!"
Mrs. Osborne: "What can you reuse that for?"
Student: "to wash the car with...."
Students: " EWWWWWW."

Valentine's Day Surprise...

Jason worked at the children's hospital last night. So... he was sleeping most of the day today. Surprisingly, this afternoon I got a burst of energy so I cleaned the bathrooms. This was enough to make me tired so I sat down on the couch and completely passed out until around 3. Hubs woke up and came in the living room asking me if he was hearing things or if the door bell rang a few minutes prior. Of course, I was clueless to the doorbell ringing because really I was zonked! I just figured Jason was just saying random crazy things, as he does a lot (love you honey...haha). An hour or so later, he left to go pick this sick mama up some Powerade and what do you know...He wasn't talking crazy. Someone did ring the doorbell. This is what we found...

Talk about making my day! Happy Valentine's Day everyone!

A Rough Week

Preparing for Gavin...
We had quite a rough week this week at the Osborne household. I woke up last Sunday feeling very nauseous and just NOT WELL. This continued up until my weekly doctors appointment on Wednesday. We went in that afternoon and my blood pressure was higher than it has been before. They wanted me to rest and they would try to take it again to see if it went down. Instead, Doc came in and said with my symptom of nausea and my high blood pressure he wanted me to go to the hospital right away for monitoring and blood work.

We got to the triage at Baptist Hospital in Nashville and got hassled for not pre-registering yet. That was a lovely experience. They monitored my blood pressure every 15 minutes and within an hour and 1/2 it went down to normal. They took some blood to make sure I did not have a form of preeclampsia. Luckily, the only thing that came back on my blood work is that I was severely anemic. They told me if I lost a decent amount of blood during labor that they would have to give me a blood transfusion. Doesn't it make sense that maybe, just maybe the blood work showed up that I was anemic because I haven't been able to hardly eat anything since Sunday?!!! Who knows...

Doc came in around 8ish that night to examine me. I was dilated to 1 cm and 80 percent effaced. I began to have some very painful contractions so he continued to check my progress for the next hour to see if I became more dilated. If I was progressing, he was going to induce me that night. However, when he checked me an hour later I had not progressed any. So... they sent me home. Since I have been home, I have been resting like crazy (which obviously I needed). I just struggle with my house being a mess! For those of you that know me, I am a clean freak-haha no kidding! My husband has been trying to do as much as he can for me in-between working at the children's hospital at night and sleeping during the day. It has been a rough week here... I want to thank everyone who called or left a message on facebook when we were in the hospital. It is such a blessing to have such wonderful friends and family in your life!

God is so good...

Please keep us in your prayers, as we will your family. We will keep you updated on this blog and of course facebook with Gavin's progress. I am hoping it is at least sometime next week because this mommy isn't feeling too well. Love you all!

Chalk Dust and Finds...

My creative side wanted to make something since I am on maternity leave waiting for Gavin to make his arrival. I am itching for stuff to do until my baby boy gets here. I don't have my hospital bag packed, laundry is piled up, and my guest room is a mess. It's not like I have a bunch of other stuff to do right? ha ha

Anyways, I decided I wanted to chalkboard paint something and thought it would be nice to have a chalkboard for the kitchen. During the threat of lots of snow in Tennessee (which really is not a lot to me since I am from an area where this amount of snow is nothing ), I begged Jason to take me to Lowe's to buy some chalkboard paint.

Afterwards, to Home Goods we went to look for a cool frame to paint. Instead, we found this antique looking mirror. After several coats of chalkboard paint, this is the finished product hanging in the kitchen. WE BOTH LOVE IT! Plus, now I can make my honey-do-list for him while I am snuggling with Gavin in just a few days ...laughing out loud!

Lastly, I went to one of my favorite stores eva'--- T-A-R-G-E-T to pick up some last minute baby items that Gavin needed. After grabbing Gavin's items, I decided to browse around the "home" section as usual (drives Jason crazy) and I found this plate and stand for $14.99! I thought it would look nice monogrammed with a big O! What do you think? Gavin got what he needed and Mommy got what she wanted (for a good price I might add).

That's it for tonight folks...

New to Blogging...

Hello all,

Jason and I have decided to start this blog. It is pretty bare right now but I am hoping to make it all fancy in the near future. Unfortunately, I am a perfectionist and if I don't have something done to the best of the best, I will not stop! What can I say? That is the "teacher" in me. Therefore, this is as good as it is going to get for tonight because if I do not stop no laundry or house work will be getting accomplished. Let us know if you have any tips or ideas to help or if you simply just want to create my blog for me (haha)! Jason has offered to help me with it sometime tomorrow. He is a lot more tech savy than I am. We can clash working together sometimes so we will see how it goes with him helping me... I may really (I mean really) need one of you.

Onto better and more interesting news...

We are just a few days/weeks away from having our precious son Gavin. Keep checking into our blog for updates on our little guy before he arrives, when he arrives, and of course after he arrives (with pictures)! Love you all! Enough blogging for me tonight...
